Action shot by www.markodphoto.com (I swear I smile sometimes…I just take your painting super seriously)
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Jennie Vegt and I am a contemporary artist living and working in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. You may have seen some of my paintings on permanent public display at institutions such as Edmonton City Hall, the City of Edmonton Tower, the University of Alberta (large mural in the chemistry department) and Norquest College. Since obtaining my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2011, I worked as the Artist in Residence in Edmonton City Hall where I became comfortable painting for an audience and engaging with the public during art sessions. From that experience, I developed my Live Painting business where I paint live at weddings and corporate events.
I also use my artistic training to bring therapeutic art experiences to patient bedsides in my current role as an Artist on the Ward at the University of Alberta Hospital.
On a more personal level, I am also a single mom to a fabulous little girl and I am truly grateful that I have been able to develop a painting career while balancing a loving home life for my daughter.
